Livery design of the two race cars (motorsport-focused variants of the Morgan Plus Four) launched by Morgan Motor Company, the University of Wolverhampton’s School of Engineering, and the University’s racing team (UWR).
When designing this livery, I wanted to be respectful to the premium, restrained, minimal brand identity of the Morgan Motor Company whilst still injecting the fun, liveliness and striking looks that are imperative in a race car.
The vehicles race as part of the same team and so the inverted design gives them a sense of belonging whilst still allowing each one to be distinctly different when viewed from a distance, at the side of the track.
I had to be thoughtful and considerate when applying many different sponsor logos to the vehicles to give each one the appropriate amount of hierarchy.
